Dead End ....

Have you come to the Red Sea place in your life,
Where in spite of all you can do,
There is no way out, there is no way back,
There is no way but through?
Then wait on the Lord with a trust serene
Till the night of your fear is gone;
He will send the wind, He will heap the floods,
When He says to your soul, "Go on"

In the morning watch,'neath the lifted cloud,
You shall see but the Lord alone,
When He leads you on from the place of the sea
To a land that you have not known;
And your fears shall pass as your foes have passed,
You shall no more be afraid;
You shall sing His praise in a better place
A place that His hand has made

One of the many challenges that we face in life is dead end situations. I like the way the author word it --- "have I come to the Red Sea place in my life ...." Have you come the the Red Sea of your life?

As I reflect, I do have a few of this situation in my life but I call them the cold dark night of my life or at the end of the rope. Henri Nouwen calls it - the dark night of our soul. Yes, what do we do when we come to a dead end of our life or a difficult situation that had been persisting in our life and at the end ... of it ... we still have no where to go or to turn to?

Be it in our personal life struggle, family life or ministry .... we are bound to face these situations -- why ... my standard answer - so that we are always at a position of needing God ... a place where we know that it is not us, not our talents .. not our capabilities or giftings but .. it is God ... In this place, we are humbled and not arrogant when we realize that we are mere man -- mere dust .... and that God is God .... He is able to help us ... He has to help us ....

Another standard answer that I will give is that this situation is to give God a chance to be God .. give God a chance to show off His power and His ability to do miracles way beyond our imagination ....

God has promised that He will never leave us nor forsake us ... so, remember, at the end of the rope, at the end of the road, where you have no where to go .... no road to chose .... just take the plunge ... jump ... dive in .... and believe that God will be there to catch you .... and bring you to another plain ... a safer plain ....

I am a strong believer that the night will have to come to an end no matter how long, dark and cold the night may be .. dawn will surely come, morning will break forth .... when we press in ... trusting that God will come through for us at the end ....
